Brian Bohunicky
Director General, Strategic Policy, Transport Canada

Transport Canada Brian Bohunicky has been engaged in public policy and administration from many angles including various capacities in the Goverment of Canada, private sector consulting, journalism and academia.

A federal public servant since 2000, he is Director General, Strategic Policy at Transport Canada, a leadership role in integrating across specialized areas. Current responsibilities include policy development to advance strategic gateways and trade corridors.

Previously, Mr. Bohunicky served as Senior Advisor, Legislation and House Planning in the Privy Council Office, and he also held executive positions in the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Previously, he spent five years as a senior ministerial advisor in four federal departments, with responsibilities including policy, communications strategy and media relations.

Mr. Bohunicky is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, and the University of Oxford, which he attended as a Rhodes Scholar. Raised in Winnipeg, he lives in Ottawa with his wife and daughter.
